Getting Here

Plan Your Way In

Under The Ledge isn’t drive-in or plug-in. It’s a place you reach with intention — one that begins before the first step. The campground is located in a remote mountain area of northern Albania, and the last part of the journey must be done on foot. But the path is worth every step.

Here’s everything you need to know to plan your arrival.

Getting to Selcë (the trailhead)

Under The Ledge Campground is located in the far north of Albania, near the Montenegrin border — at the edge where the Albanian Alps begin to rise. The nearest village is Selcë, a quiet mountain village with a long history and hidden beauty. It’s here that the trail to the campground begins.

There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don't look even slightly believable. A PATH WORTH WALKING

Reaching the Camp

Trail Start — Selcë School & Graveyard

The hike begins just outside the village of Selcë, near the old school and graveyard. This is where the road ends and the footpath begins — a quiet transition from the village to the wild. From here, you step into a trail that hugs the natural flow of the river, winding gently through stone and shade.

River Pools

Following the river upstream, the trail leads past several cold mountain pools. These are perfect places to pause, splash your face, or cool off during warm days. You’ll hear the water long before you see it — and when you do, it’s crystal clear and fresh from the mountain.

First Ledge & Gorge View

After the river, the trail begins to climb gradually — about 100 meters in elevation — guiding you to the first high ledge. Here, you’ll step above a gorge with an incredible view. This is often the moment hikers first sense where the camp might be tucked into the landscape. You’re above the forest now, with the terrain opening wide.

Scree Slope & Second Ledge

The trail continues with a steeper uphill section — a loose scree path that demands slower footing. As you reach the second ledge, the landscape shifts again. Trees grow taller, shade returns, and the rocks give way to soft forest. It feels quieter, more hidden. This is where you begin to feel how remote the camp truly is.

Final Stretch & Arrival

From the second ledge, the path levels out. About 15 more minutes of gentle walking brings you to Under The Ledge — perched high above the gorge, and just a short walk from the waterfall. The air feels different here: still, fresh, and filled with birdsong. You’ve arrived.
